  • PPE Deep Spin-on Filter For Allison 1000/2000 Transmissions
Pacific Performance Engineering (PPE) has recognized the need for better filtration on the hard working Allison 1000 transmission in our GM Duramax equipped HD pickup trucks. PPE has developed a double deep spin-on filter for the Allison 1000/2000 transmission. This filter gives you 2.72 times more filter media to filter contaminants out of the transmission fluid. The PPE deep Allison trans filter also has a much smaller micron rating at 15 microns. This new filter traps 50% more contaminates that can cause wear in your transmission. PPE's new filter has more pleats (200 Sq In) than the oem filter (73 sq in).
In testing it has been found that the transmission has smoother more responsive shifts with this new filter installed because the factory filter is a choke point for the fluid. The PPE filter allows much more fluid to pass through allowing higher line pressure, more filtration with a lower micron rating.
The PPE double deep filter fits the GM 2500/3500 HD pick-up truck equipped with the Allison 1000 Transmission 2001-Present.

The deep filter idea makes sense however the filter sits lower than the transmission pan, this concerns me when I look underneath my truck. Not sure if I will stick with these.
